Tyler Walker
Program Coordinator - Semiconductors
Tyler has lived most of her life in the Portland Metro Area. She joined BB2S when she was six years old, participating in what was then called the Jr. FIRST LEGO League. Building Blocks 2 Success helped cultivate her interest in engineering, which she took with her through high school. She went on to study Electrical & Computer Engineering at Oregon State University - eventually receiving her bachelor's degree with a minor in Computer Science. While in college, she was a part of the American Institute for Aeronautics & Astronautics (AIAA) club, the OSU Robotics Club, and was a College of Engineering Ambassador. She also did research at OSU and at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory, and completed a six month internship with Daimler. She intends to go to grad school to study electromagnetics and quantum physics.
Tyler is passionate about bringing K-12 STEM education opportunities to students of all backgrounds, as she has seen just how influential it has been on her life. She currently works with BB2S as a Program Coordinator, where she is developing a curriculum for an Arduino-based Semiconductor Program. In her free time, she enjoys stargazing and wildlife observation.
