Medical/ Healthcare Program

Our medical/healthcare program is designed for youth of color who are passionate about becoming medical professionals. We target students from the Portland Metro area and surrounding cities in Oregon.

This program is designed to provide guidance to youth of color as they begin their journey into the healthcare field. BB2S offers a comprehensive program for recruiting, training, and graduating youth of color who aspire to careers in the medical field.

  • Dates: The program will begin in August and end in June of the following year

    Location: Oregon Health & Science University and/or BB2S STEM Innovation Center

  • The following minimum requirements must be met to qualify for admission into our Medical/Healthcare Pathway Program

    -Be enrolled in a Middle/ High School in Oregon at the time of application

    -Be between the ages of 9 and 18 years

    -Be passionate about medicine or any health science field

    -Have a minimum GPA of 2.75

    -Basic or foundational knowledge in Science

  • Application opens - 1st week in August

    Application closes - 3rd week in September

    Interview invitations sent - 1st week in October

    Interviews conducted - 3rd week of October to 1st week of November

    Offer letters sent - 3rd week of November

  • The application takes about 30 minutes to complete

    Please have the following documents ready before starting the application;

    -Unofficial school transcripts 

    -2 letters of recommendation 

    -One passport-sized photograph
