TANIA REDEAU
Administrative Assistant/ Office Manager
Tania comes from a family background of community involvement and athletes. Her father and brother manage a wrestling club that focuses on youth development both on and off the mat. In addition, her youngest son is a head wrestling coach, assistant football and baseball coach in Washington. Tania and her family have used several sports vehicles to connect and build relationships with youth in order to teach them work ethic, teamwork, and self-confidence. It is with these 3 elements that drew her to Building Blocks 2 Success where these same skills are needed in order to be a successful team.
Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, she has witnessed the evolution of the city and identified the necessity for a positive female role model. Tania is passionate about working with youth, particularly in supporting young girls to navigate today's society and empowering them to use their voice and boosting their self-confidence. She possesses extensive volunteer experience, starting as a Rape Victim Advocate with the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office and later becoming a self-defense instructor for the City of Portland Police Bureau GirlStrength program.
With seven years of experience as the Head Girls Wrestling Coach at a high school in Washington, she also served as an Assistant Girls Softball Coach. In addition, Tania has assisted as a youth football coach for the same team her grandchildren played on.
Prior to coming to Building Blocks 2 Success, she was the Girl Empowerment Coordinator at WorldVenture, where she conducted training sessions for various organizations on Anti-Sex Trafficking and Domestic Violence Prevention and self-defense skills using trauma informed care. Prior to WorldVenture, Tania dedicated 17 years to the Department of Veterans Affairs where she started as an entry level Budget Technician and worked her way up to a supervisory program analyst where she ran a successful national Indian Health and Tribal Health program where some patients were seen in rural Alaska areas and navigated the healthcare system during COVID-19.
Tania is excited to bring her years of organization, relationship building, team building, and leadership to BB2S while continuing to gain other skills. "I‘m really excited to see the trajectory of this amazing organization and the impact it will have on the area youth in the near future!"
In her personal life, Tania cherishes her roles as a wife, mother of 4, and grandmother of 6. She enjoys reading good books, a new found love of hiking, and spending precious moments with her loved ones!
